(SOLD) Fender Japan '57 Precision Bass PB57-53 Sunburst 1993
Fender Precision, two tone sunburst, made in Japan 1993. It looks good, no? This sleek operator has the juicy 50s style appointments: beefy maple neck, spaghetti decal, two tone finish and a gold guard. It's a beefy neck, with as 45mm nut and a chunky D style shape, but that works a treat: it's reassuring in the hands and adds a little bit of top end focus to the tone. The tone, speaking of which, is awesome: thumping attack, rounded lows, warm mids with heaps of presence... can't go wrong there. The gold guard is a mod, but it sits on the burst finish perfectly; the thing looks the goods. P for pexcellent.

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. The headstock has some scuffs on the end and some dimples on the top and bottom edges. The neck is clean and smooth in the hands, minor dimples on the back only. The back has a couple of chips on the bottom edge in the waist area, some scuffs and a small chip in the elbow area, scuffs along the back edge and along the belly carve. The sides have minor dimples and scuffs around the whole body, nothing nasty. The front has a few dimples up from the pickup and in the elbow area and some play wear on the horns. Overall: very good condition (7.5/10)
Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electrics tested and working properly. The frets are in good shape, 8/10 for fret life left. Set up with fresh 45/105 Moonshiners strings.
