(SOLD) Fender Kurt Cobain Jag-Stang Fiesta Red 2021
Fender Jag-Stang, fiesta red, made in Mexico 2021. The Jag-Stang was conceived in the troubled mind of self describe guitar 'anti-hero' Kurt Cobain, The legend goes something like this: at the peak of Nirvana's fame in 1993, Kurt Cobain spliced a picture of the top of a Mustang and the bottom of a Jaguar together, and then he and Custom Shop luthier Larry Brooks worked together on a prototype to bring the vision to reality. The resulting guitar saw only a bit of daylight before Kurt's untimely death in 1994, but the design lived on. The original run was made in Japan in the mid 90s before disappearing for a couple of decades and popping back up as a Mex-made model a year or two ago. It's well executed: tight and tidy workmanship, reliable hardware, crisp finish. It feels quite compact in the hands, which makes sense being a 24" scale; it's pretty easy to move around on and doesn't make you work too hard. The scale length and Mustang trem make for a naturally short sustain, so it has a punchy attack with a throaty midrange growl. It cleans up nicely enough, especially on the neck pickup. It's absolutely happiest doing big stanky rhythm parts on the bridge pickup into a dirty amp, it really does that with gusto. "Here we are now, in containers."

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. The headstock has some scuffs on the end. The neck is clean and smooth in the hands, no major marks. The back has minor dimples on the top horn and some scuffs along the back edge and in the elbow area. The sides have a few dents near the jack. The front has some scuffs around the tailpiece and back edge and some play wear on the guard and horns. Overall: excellent condition (9/10).
Playing condition notes: Action is low, intonation is good, neck is straight, truss rod works. All electrics tested and working properly. The frets have very minor wear only 9/10 for fret life left. Wearing fresh 11/49 Moonshiners strings.
